BMA14 kicked off today with a huge statement \u2013 there are almost 1,000 attendees, making this the largest Business-to-Business marketing conference in the globe!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The presenters have been fantastic.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen a variety of companies present, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usg.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">USG<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airbus.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Airbus<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/facebook\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a>.\u00a0 I have learned so much, and one of the biggest things that I was reminded of was summarized by a quote from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/elizabethjcomstock\" target=\"_blank\">Beth Comstock<\/a>, CMO of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">GE<\/a>: \u201cBtoB does not stand for Boring to Boring.\u201d How right she is.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A few highlights that piqued my interest:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Airbus uses 18\u201d seats on planes that are being used on long haul flights.\u00a0 They studied how you sleep in a 17\u201d versus 18\u201d seat and won\u2019t do anything smaller than 18\u201d because of how poorly you sleep in a 17\u201d seat.\u00a0 I can\u2019t imagine flying that far in a smaller seat!<\/li>\n<li>Facebook has transformed their business to be a mobile first company.\u00a0 Consumers check their phones an average of 150 times per day (39% of people are doing this in the bathroom). One out of five minutes on your phone is spent on Facebook or Instagram<\/li>\n<li>Aon sponsored Manchester United.\u00a0 They developed brand recognition all over the world because of the sponsorship.
